Donald Davies

Donald Davies, age 83 of Lawrence, PA passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 in his home surrounded by family. He was born on August 31, 1934 in Canonsburg, PA to the late George and Elizabeth Luke Davies. Surviving is a son Jeffrey; brothers James (Jean) Davies of Lawrence and Robert (Ruth) Davies of Washington, PA; sisters Cora (Dave) Hillen of Lawrence, PA and Margaret (Robert) Holden of El Monte, CA; grandson Donald Michael Davies, Jr.; daughter-in-law Edna (Ronald) Cox of Connellsville, PA and sister-in-law Ellen Davies. Donald was also blessed with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his son Donald Michael Davies; a grandson Michael Lee; brother Charles Davies; sister Loretta (Gino) Rosi and Viola (Alfred) Kaikaka and nephews David Lee, David Michael, Wesley and Michael.

Donald served in the US Army during the Berlin Crises. He worked many years at the Local 1058 in construction. He also was a coal miner for Consolidated Coal. Donald enjoyed spending time with his great-grandchildren and working in his garage repairing tractors and lawnmowers.

There will be no visitation. Burial will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, 1158 Morgan Road, Bridgeville, PA 15017 on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at 10:30 AM. Arrangements have been entrusted to Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260-5546.
