Shannon Nicole Pennington Bogan

Shannon was born in Elkins, WV on January 8, 1970. She left this earth to be with the Lord on November 9, 2019 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, PA.

Shannon was a 1988 graduate of Tucker County High School, Hambleton, WV. After graduation, she obtained employment with VEPCO, Mt. Storm, WV where she met her future husband Zola Bogan of Cabins, WV.

They were married on August 26, 1989 and lived happily in Cabins, WV until his death in 2016. There she was a homemaker and mother to their son Cody for many years. They attended Riverside Church as a family. There she was a Sunday school teacher and had a wonderful relationship with the Lord.

Later in life she obtained employment at McDonald’s in Petersburg, WV. Shannon was a crafter and loved to paint until a stroke at the age of 41 limited her ability to do so. In May 2016 with the loss of her husband, she moved to North Versailles, PA where she was a homemaker as well.

She was proceeded in death by her husband Zola Bogan; her father Carrol Pennington, Jr; and a nephew Joseph Dumire.

Those left to cherish her memory is her son Cody Allen Bogan(Rachel) of Timberville, VA; her mother Brenda Joyce Pennington of Thomas, WV; sisters Carla Faulkner(George) of Pierce, WV; Gina Lilly (Daren) of Flat Top, WV with nieces Danielle Lilly of Elizabeth Township, PA; Charlette Lilly of Morgantown, WV; Mary Grace Lilly and Alexandra Lilly both of Flat Top, WV; sister Janice Skinner(Charles) of Thomas, WV with a nephew Jonathan and a niece Cynthia both at home; step daughter Tabitha White (Larry) with their son Malachi of Harrisonburg, VA, and her companion Jon Schrag of Monessen, PA.

There will be a memorial service at a later time family and friends will be notified.

The family asks in lieu of flowers monetary donations can be made at Miners & Merchants Bank in Thomas, WV or on the Gofund Me page.
