Roy Mitchell, 83, of New Sewickley Township, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of January 11th at Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver.

Roy was employed by New Sewickley Township for 27 years. After retirement, he worked for Rhodes Transit as a school bus driver for Freedom Area School District.

Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Bertha and Howard Mitchell, as well as 4 siblings: Shirley Mitchell, Dorothy Jenkins, Homer Mitchell, and Dennis Mitchell.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Linda Mitchell, as well as 3 children and 2 step-children: Kathy (Fred) Campbell, Judy (Erv) Martindale, Richard (Debbie) Mitchell, John Steel, and Debbie (Robert) Blackwell. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Sergeant First Class Nathan Campbell, Kristia Mitchell, Kayla (Paul) Young, Katelynn Conedera, Carolyn (Jesse) Jordon, Tanner Steel, Johnny Steel, and Jessica (William) Stillwell, and by siblings Dale (Jean) Mitchell and Wilda (Richard) Collins.

The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice for their kind and loving care. In lieu of a viewing, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, Robinson Township.
