Martin R. Hornung passed away at the age of 86 on Sunday, February 2, 2020. Loving husband to Kay and father to Steve and Dyan Hornung.

Marty was born in New Castle, PA and received his undergraduate degree from Penn State University. He worked in advertising and communications for his entire career, both in the agency and corporate worlds. After serving proudly in the United States Navy, he worked for many years as the head of advertising for Koppers in Pittsburgh.

A dyed-in-the-wool Penn Stater, Marty was a devoted and lifelong fan of Penn State football. He spent Sundays enthusiastically (and at shocking decibels) rooting for his other great love: the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Marty was preceded in death by his parents and an older sister, along with a variety of beloved pets. Inurnment will take place on Monday, February 10, 2020 at 1:00 pm in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies with honors. Donations may be made to Angels for Animals in Canfield, 4750 S. Range, Canfield, OH 44406. Arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Twp., PA 15136.

Dear Kay and Dyan, It broke my heart to hear about the death of your husband and father. We worked together for so many years, it felt like we were family. All of you will be remembered in my prayers every day. Love, Lois
