Wilson W. Ringeisen “Skip” passed away peacefully at home on March 29, 2021, in the comforting care of his family, after living a wonderful 93 years.

Born on October 26, 1927, Skip was a dedicated husband for 35 years to Ida Mae (Miller) who preceded him in death in 1984, he also had two children who preceded him in death, Wilson Ringeisen, Jr. (Mickey) and Sheryl Ringeisen, and one sister who preceded him in death, Betty Clifford (Doug) who lived in Port Alberni, BC, Canada.

He retired after many years with Port Authority of Allegheny County and lived a very fulfilling and eventful retired life full of family, friends, travel, taking road trips in his many new trucks, card playing, music (he played 3 instruments as hobbies), dancing, and fixing up his homes.  There was no home repair work he could not do!

Skip was a veteran of WWII and a patriot of his country.  He had a strong faith and a deep love of family.  He was known for always being happy and wearing a smile, he was very witty, and energetic, with a zest for life.  He gave his family all the credit for his happiness – saying his family made it easy for him to be happy!

He is survived by a loving family of two daughters, Kathleen Onda (Tom), and Cynthia Golembiewski (John); three grandchildren, Jody Eriksson (Mark), Nichole Onda (Nick Hoffner), Courtney Golembiewski; one great granddaughter, Evie Hoffner, whose laughter, he said, made everyone around her laugh, too!  Two step-grandchildren, Lynne Bateson (Jim), Beth Raimondi (Bob); three step-great grandchildren, who lovingly called him “Snappy”, Hailey Bateson, Casey Bateson, Nico Raimondi.  He is also survived by one sister, Sally Blyth, who resides in Cranberry.

Skip was beloved by everyone who knew him and will be deeply missed.  The family would like to thank Norine, for her care and support.  A private family gathering will be held to celebrate a well-lived life.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Tunnel2Towers.org.

Death Is Nothing At All by Henry Scott-Holland

. . .

Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes that we enjoyed together.

Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.

Let my name be ever the household word that it always was.

Let it be spoken without an effort, without the ghost of a shadow upon it.

Life means all that it ever meant.

It is the same as it ever was.

There is absolute and unbroken continuity.

What is this death but a negligible accident?

Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight?

I am but waiting for you, for an interval,

somewhere very near,

just round the corner.

All is well.

Nothing is hurt; nothing is lost.

One brief moment and all will be as it was before.

How we shall laugh at the trouble of parting when we meet again!

Leave a Condolence
