It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our father Benjamin Mason Tichenor, Sr., age 88 on April 16, 2021. Born on March 16, 1933, he is survived by his loving wife for over 68 years together, Ardeth Mae (Numer) and three children, Benjamin (Linda) Tichenor Jr., Kenneth (Nancy) Tichenor and Susan Minor (Tichenor). Also known as “Pap” to 4 grandchildren (Lisha, Jared, Lindsay, Makayla), 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Ben is the son of the late Ingle Leroy Tichenor and Lula Vera Constable Tichenor. Survived by one sister, Louise Brydon, and one brother Buck Harding and sisters-in-law Diane Harding, Judith Viviano and brother-in-law William Numer. Preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Ben was a decorated Korean War Veteran with the United States Army, a sheet metal worker with Local #12 and as a hobby was a crafted taxidermist for over 60 years. After retirement, Ben took on several jobs, most notably as a Chartiers Valley School District Bus Driver. Ben loved to hunt, fish, nature and the great outdoors. Also a jack-of-all trades that could fix anything. A social butterfly who belonged to several clubs in the Carnegie area and never drank or smoked. Just loved to socialize and participated in many motorcycle charity runs.

Ben’s presence will be missed up there on Lindsay Road sitting at the big picture window in his living room or out on the front porch in the summer. A man who loved life and laughed often, he will be truly missed by all, positively irreplaceable!

You’ve had a great life! Rest easy Dad, see you again….

Arrangements have been entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray PA 15317, (724) 260-5546.
