Dr. Ronald S. Kochman

Dr. Ronald S. Kochman, 81, of McMurray, PA, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully July 8, 2021 surrounded by his loved ones.

He was the son of the late Stephen and Clair Kochman.

Beloved husband of Patricia M. Kochman (LaQuinta) of 59 years. Loving Father of Curtis (Nancy) Kochman and Christine Card. Cherished grandfather to 6 loving grandchildren: Cole (26), Carson (23), Callie (22), Teegan (18), Shea (18) and Delaney (18). and Brother of JoAnne Bing.

Ron was an accomplished athlete and educator, holding his PhD in education as well as holding 2 Masters degrees. An outstanding All-Star baseball catcher who played professionally in the late 50’s.  Ron held positions of Dean of Men at Carnegie Mellon University as well as Point Park University.  Dr. Kochman retired after a 25+ year career as an executive at the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. Post retirement, Dr. Kochman served as a mentor for the Doctorate of Education programs at both Duquesne University and Nova Southeastern University both schools that he carried advanced degrees from.

Some of Ron’s greatest joys in life were always supporting his grandchildren’s athletics cheering from the stands where he rarely missed a game or sometimes even a practice.  Ron loved to entertain people and brighten a room with his infectious smile and huge personality.

Friends and family will be received on July 22, 2021 for a celebration of Dr. Ron Kochman’s life at the Waterford Villa Clubhouse on East McMurray Road from 2-4 pm.
