Timothy Bryson Wilson, 72, of Pittsburgh, PA passed away peacefully on October 23, 2023.

The beloved husband of the late Eleanor Ann (Filek) Wilson, adoring father to Kathleen Ann (Wilson) Holsinger and son-in-law Daniel LaRocque Holsinger II, and proud Pop Pop to Preston LaRocque Holsinger, who always brought the biggest smile to his face.

Born on November 20, 1950, to the late Minnie Eugenia (Bryson) Wilson and Smith Martin Wilson III, Tim grew up in Upper St. Clair with his sister Cassandra (Glenn) Galbreath, and brothers Smith Martin (Penny) Wilson IV and Thomas John (Cathy) Wilson. He is also survived by his loving nieces Sarah (Steve), Megan (Doug), Elizabeth, Catherine, Kaley, and nephew Turner, with whom he shares the same birthday.

Tim graduated from West Virginia Wesleyan College with a degree in business administration, along with a deep love for music. He sang second bass in the college choir and toured Europe in the tour choir, creating memories he cherished to the very end. A humanitarian choir award was also created and named in his honor, an early recognition of his continued generosity.

After college, he served as a manager at Woolworth’s and then went on to work at IBM, where he opened one of the first personal computer stores in downtown Pittsburgh. He then devoted his life to helping others through his volunteer work at the North Hills Community Outreach and Meals on Wheels.

Tim married his love Eleanor on September 22, 1979 in Oakland and lived together in Mount Washington where their daughter was born. The family of three then moved to Ross Township and shared a beautiful life together on a charming dead-end street. Eleanor preceded him in death on March 26, 2003.

He continued his love for music throughout his entire life, singing in the Bob Locklin Singers, the Berkeley Hills Lutheran Church choir, and multiple barbershop groups around Pittsburgh. He starred in his first musical at the age of 69, starring as the Prince in a senior community production of Into the Woods.

Most of all, Tim loved spending time with his family, and eating fish sandwiches. His kind, gentle soul will be dearly missed. May he always be remembered when you play your favorite tune.

A celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Epilepsy Association of Western and Central PA and Family Hospice.
