Darcy Jean (Mikec) Johnston, age 60 of McMurray, PA passed into the arms of Jesus with her husband at her side, after a six month courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, December 31, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Herman J. and Norma Jean Mikec. Beloved wife of 35 years to H. Charles “Chuck “ Johnston. Loving mother to Jean (Josh) Bender and Carly Johnston. Adored grandmother of James and Jade Bender. Loving sister to Dawne (Jerry) Blake and Doug Mikec. Darcy was also blessed with many in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Darcy was grateful for the amazing care she received from family, friends and the staff at Allegheny Health Network and Canonsburg Hospital.

Darcy enjoyed family gatherings where she would cook tremendous meals. She cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and loved being called, “Gigi.” Darcy will be remembered for how much she loved everyone, especially the children in Glencannon who called her their second mom. She will be dearly missed by many.

At Darcy’s request, no visitation or services at this time, a celebration of life will be held a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260-5546.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Darcy’s name to The Pittsburgh Women’s Clinic, 101 Drake Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15241.

Our deepest sympathies!!!! Although we rarely saw one another, you've been fondly thought of! I can remember visiting Grandma Mikec with my parents and siblings in the past and admiring cheers being practiced for cheerleading, your Irish Setter dog and Fun times! Also, your wedding and the cool, satin bookmark I've used to mark a place in the many books I've read over the years! Really enjoyed talking with you at one of the last Family Reunions! Rest in peace dear cousin! This is heartbreaking... Keeping your loved ones in prayer! Again, with deepest sympathy, Renee Mikec-Duncan and Family

I deeply regret that I am reaching out under this circumstance but I wanted to express how sorry I am for your loss. Please know that you and your family are in our prayers. Take care
