David Daniel Olejarz, age 76 of Butler PA, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, January 18, 2020. He was born June 17, 1943 in Pittsburgh and was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence Olejarz, Sr. and Helen Barylska and his only brother, Lawrence, Jr. He is survived by the love of his life, Linda Miko; children, Diane (Jim) Hartman, Matthew (Beth) Olejarz, Nathan (Janet) Olejarz and Sarah Rossi. He is also survived by 10 Grandchildren; Zachary, Samuel and Tori Hartman, Brandi (Collin) Miloser and Brooke Olejarz, Nathalie and Noah Olejarz, and Calvin, Chloe and Caleb Rossi, and by one great-granddaughter Clara May.

Dave was an avid hockey fan who loved his Pittsburgh Penguins.  He enthusiastically watched every Pens game.  He worked for many years in the printing/graphic design industry as Director of Operations, Plant Manager, and various other roles.  His attention to detail carried over into his home life where he enjoyed working with wood.  He was a talented designer who made beautiful things out of wood for the people he loved.  Dave loved being in the kitchen cooking with Linda.  He spent his time making old-time recipes as well as trying out new recipes to share with many.

A memorial service at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be held in the spring, followed by a celebration of his life. Arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, McMurray, PA.

Sarah and family you’re all in my thoughts and prayers. I know the loss of a father and the emptiness you feel. His presence will always be in your heart and memories. Take a deep breathe and cherish the thought he went quickly with no suffering or pain. He’s now your new guardian angel watching over each of you. With deepest sympathy Andrea M GrayRn
