Deron “Woody” Allen Wood
December 12th 1966 – April 16th 2024 Passed away at the age of 57, peacefully in the comfort of home surrounded by friends after an almost 2-year battle with cancer.

Deron was a 1985 Trinity Area Graduate. After doing construction and some other driving jobs he went to work as a driver for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for 15 years, retiring in 2021. Deron was also a volunteer firefighter/Engineer with Canton Township in Washington. Outside of Deron’s professional life, he spent the last 34 years living on the Prigg Farm in Washington. He enjoyed many outdoor activities with his friends that included playing and working on the farm as well as camping and riding.

Deron was preceded in death by his mother Cassandra “Sandy” Brytus Wood Marflak, his brother, Dustin Wood, his grandparents, Helen and Mike Brytus, and his dear friend Robbie Byrd. Surviving him is his step father, Dan Marflak, many great cousins Mark, Dan M. Carol, Tammi, and Sherry and his closest friends Edmund and Jimmy Dunn, Rob Charnesky, Bill “BC” Carpenter, Walt Davis and Tracy Tush.

A huge thank you to Deron’s care givers over these last 18 months. Thank you, Angel Cox, for helping us make his last days and hours comfortable. At Deron’s request there will not be a service, and in Lieu of flowers he asked that you please donate to your local pet rescue as he was a cat and animal lover.
