James V. Maddox

James V. Maddox, age 86, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed peacefully on February 6, 2024.
Beloved husband of Jill Rodgers Maddox. Born on August 6, 1937, he is son of the late Lucille and James Maddox.
Loving father of Vincent Michael (Dawn) Maddox, David and Butch Maddox and Shonda Wheeler. Brother of Delores Powell. Adoring Grandfather of Kendall and Wyatt Maddox. James was preceded in death by his siblings, Catherine Milton, Kenneth Maddox, and Carl Cain.
James began his adult life by serving in the United States Army. He took great pride in his country and his service, as did those around him. Later, he began a career as a bus driver for the Port Authority. When he wasn’t working, James enjoyed going to the beach, fishing as well as antiquing. He also had a special connection with his dog, Tanvi. James was someone who had the biggest heart, and could always crack a joke when someone needed to smile.
His warm heart and caring nature will be missed by those who knew and loved him. The family gratefully acknowledges the staff at Caring Hospice.
