Janice (Jan) Freddie Wilson Molinaro was born December 11, 1941, and died on March 13, 2024, in Pittsburgh, PA, after fiercely facing health challenges the past year.

Jan grew up in Mt. Washington, PA with her two younger sisters, Linda Snyder and Sheila Dirling, who were her best friends throughout her life. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lori, who passed in 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. Jan is survived by her husband, married for 61 years, Lou Molinaro; eldest son Lou Jr., wife Jenn, and four grandsons, Matthew, Michael, Dominic, and Anthony; and youngest son Mark and wife Jen

Jan had an amazing wit, a great sense of humor that could surprise you, and a deep care for her family that was unmatched, especially for her four grandsons. She loved and knew everything about the Pittsburgh Penguins, and she enjoyed HGTV where she would get ideas for Lou, her master carpenter, to recreate for her. After retirement, Jan and Lou enjoyed taking short day trips to explore and find hidden antique treasures. Their home was always filled with a warm and cozy country atmosphere with the aroma of “Mema’s” sauce cooking on the stove. But for all she enjoyed, there was nothing more precious to her than being surrounded by her family.

Family and friends are welcome on Monday, March 18, 2024 from 10 am until the time of service at 1 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317, 724-260-5546. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.

Mr. Molinaro, Mark, and Lou, I'm so sorry to hear such heartbreaking news. I have very fond memories of growing up across the street from your family, and feeling like your mom was my mom as well. Please know that you are all in my thoughts, and prayers as you go through such a difficult time. Sending love your way, Kate Beveridge (McKenna)

I will miss Jen very much, even though I didn't get a lot of time with her and "Big Lou". I do remember the wonderful time at the Outer Banks with EVERYONE there! Rest in peace with God.

Condolences to the Molinaro family. I only know Lou Jr.but have listened to many stories of a wonderful close family. I know he cherished his mother fiercely. Lou and Jenn have spent time at the beach with me and I can see Lou was raised in a loving family. To the whole family and to Lou and Jenn please know I am thinking of you all. Sending love your way - Jenn's Aunt Susie in Virginia.
