In Memoriam

Jeffrey James Engel: 2/8/1953 – 1/19/2018

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Jeffrey J. Engel, age 64 of Pompano Beach FL. Jeffrey was born and spent the first half of his life in Pittsburgh PA, where he graduated from St Elizabeth’s High School and then went on to Allegheny College earning his Bachelor’s degree in Business Economics. After completing college, Jeff pursued a successful career in Reprographic Sales in the Pittsburgh area. Following a move to South Florida in 1985, Jeff continued his career in printing sales before he found his true passion selling commercial lighting.

Above all, Jeff was a kind, compassionate and loving person. He was always ready to help in any situation. His love of life, delightful sense of humor, quest for adventure and his innate ability to keep in contact with the many people he has befriended over the years will be remembered by all who knew him. It was nearly impossible to go out anywhere with Jeff without him running into someone he knew. To know Jeff was to love him. Jeff was an avid reader with an uncanny knowledge of even the most obscure topics… In his spare time, Jeff enjoyed collecting mid-century modern furniture, kite-flying, cooking, and volunteering at The Bonnet House in Fort Lauderdale.

Jeff was a loving and loyal son, a kind and caring brother, and always the fun uncle. Jeff is survived by his mother, Marjorie (McKeever) Engel-Kraus, his sister Sara (Bero) Harari, and brothers Bill (Christine) and Mike (Denise) Engel as well as 17 nieces and nephews.

In addition to memorial services being held in Ft Lauderdale Florida, a celebration of Jeff’s life will be held on February 8th, 2018 at 3PM in Pittsburgh:
