Jialu Wu, Ph.D, age 78, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, April 14, 2015.
Born on January 1, 1937, in Shanghai, China, he is the son of the late Chengyang and Yingzhi Wu.
Loving Husband of 53 years to Shuying Huang, of Oakland.
Beloved Father of Jie Wu (Fan Zong), of Shanghai, China and Vivian (Allen) Lin, of Wexford; Dear Grandfather of Shiyue Zong and Karina Lin; he also leaves behind two sisters.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister and two brothers.
In 1991, Jialu received his Ph.D in History from the University of Pittsburgh. He was a Economics Professor at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for many years until his retirement. He was an accomplished scholar and educator. He loved to read and study. He also taught English at a prestigious language institute in Shanghai, China. He cared for his students greatly and challenged them to do their best. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
