LaVerna Jane Guzel “Verna”, 92 from Canonsburg, PA passed away in her home with family by her side  on April 12, 2021.

Born on October 12, 1928 in Canonsburg she was the daughter to the late Harold and Georgia Sharp. Sister of the late Alvin Sharp and Beulah O’Byrne.

Married Frank E. Guzel Sr. On September 22, 1951.

Verna graduated from Chartiers Township High School and became a homemaker and raised her 5 children.  She was the Secretary of PA Dairy Goat Association, worked elections and enjoyed going to dances with her husband, friends and family. In her spare time she enjoyed crafting especially crocheting and knitting. She was a devout member of the First United Methodist Church of Canonsburg.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her beloved husband, Frank E. Guzel Sr. Surviving are her children, Rhonda (Robert) McDonald, Rebecca Rankin, Ruth (Wilbert) Dinsmore, Regina (Kevin) Julius, Frank (the late Joyce) Guzel Jr.; 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren plus 1 expected in August.

All services will be private at the family’s convenience.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Concordia Hospice, 10 Leet St., Washington, PA 15301, 724-250-4500.
