I loved spending time with Lien and will miss her greatly! She was so warm and made those around her feel so special and loved. Her smile was so welcoming. I loved coming over for Pho and sharing that with her and Phuong and also my kids (jonah would always have 2 bowls)! It was so clear how much she cared for those around her especially her kids. The love was palpable. Her love for travel was inspiring and the last time we were together we talked about her swim lessons and her desire to visit south africa. How brave to start swim lessons at 66!. We will all miss her. Love to Michele, Phuong and Daniel.

Dear Dr Trang B?ch Liên’s loving family members, I especially remember Dr Trang B?ch Liên’s gentle spirit and friendly nature. They will always be remembered as an especially giving person of nice character. I’m so sorry I could not be there in person to convey my condolences. Though I may be far away, please understand that my spirit and prayers are with you.

Since that hurried last day of the tumbling April 1975, I have never met Liên, my classmate, again. Now that she has passed away, I wish to say a condolence to her family and friends and also my short good-bye poem to her: When the loved ones gather around her tomb, In silent tears And faltering steps Or even under a bright blue cloudless summer sky, To lay B?ch Liên down to the pulling but embracing earth, We wish to grasp her hands, for the last time And reach her face, in grief and sorrow, Then we know, like we always knew, Without knowing, we had found her in our hearts.
