Bertha Louise Bennington Cooley

Louise was born May 18, 1933 and died Wednesday, January 31, 2018 of neurological trauma after a fall in her home in Waynesburg. Born to William and Virginia Rush Bennington and raised with siblings Helen Christopher of Waynesburg the late Lucille Phillips, Frances Barnes and John Bennington.  Louise family included her children: Debra Cooley- Moore (Jerry), John Cooley (Vickie) and Terri Cooley- Taylor (Michael). She also leaves one granddaughter, Michelle McElhannon (Charles); A great grandson Liam McElhannon; Grandson, John David Cooley (Jennifer); step grandson Christopher Litten; step great grandchildren Aly, Alex and Haylee. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Louise had many passions, hobbies and jobs. She was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ruff Creek, serving in many positions through the years. An avid bowler Louise loved the weekly game and the yearly tournaments. Louise was fun to be around and had an infectious laugh, you could pick her laugh out anywhere. Internment and services will be held privately at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Ruff Creek.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Greene County, 183 Jefferson Rd., Waynesburg, PA 15370, 724-627-9988.

I just adored you, you were no stranger thats for sure, always a hug, a laugh, an ear and plenty of I love you's. You had a wonderful classy style about yourself and I always felt good after talking to you, you just had that way about you. A wonderful person here and I fully understand why God takes the best.
