Mel was a great man to work with. He pulled me out of the line of fire many times when I was a nurse at Mayview State Hospital. I was honored to be among his friends, and my deepest sympathy goes out to all of his family and close friends. There will never be another one like him, that is for sure! I worked with Mel at Mayview. He was such a good man with a great sense of humor and a “take no prisoner,” attitude. I am heartbroken that he is gone. Please accept my deepest condolences.
