Richard M. Allen, 59, of Lawrence PA, passed away on February 27th, 2023 after a brave fight with cancer.

Rich was born on Long Island on February 28th, 1963, to Robert and Joanne Allen. Rich spent his childhood in northern New Jersey and had the accent to show for it. He is remembered for being a hard worker, his quick wit, generosity, sense of humor, and his drink order (“Absolut on the rocks with a lime”).

He was in sales for over 30 years, which was the foundation of his ability to build thoughtful and friendly relationships with everyone he met. Rich had no contacts saved in his cell phone and knew everyone’s number by heart.

Everyone called Rich, “Brooklyn,” including Leann, whom he loved so much. Brooklyn and Leann loved to try new restaurants and go to the lake in Deep Creek, Maryland. Additionally, he loved to talk about sports with his daughter Taylor, especially football and hockey. He was also an amazing athlete and played middle linebacker at Pope John High School, and knew more football trivia than any of his friends.

Rich was the oldest of two children, and he loved and was loved by his brother Rob. He leaves behind his devoted partner, Leann Ianucci, daughter, Taylor Allen, brother Rob Allen, and mother Joanne Allen. He is also survived by his close friends, Ron, Wilson, Frank, Rick, Meegan, Nicky, and Michael. He is predeceased by his father, Robert Allen.

There will be a celebration of Rich’s life this spring, at a location that has outdoor access for smoke breaks.

I met Rich when he and Leann had just met. To see their relationship grow will always be a fond memory. Rich was such an interesting and funny guy. I loved hearing his perspective on life's issues. Rich was kind, caring and way too generous. Courageous and brave was how he led his life and his battle. You will be sorely missed Brooklyn.
