Robert E. Foley, 91, of Pittsburgh, PA who was a mechanical engineer, passed away on Jan 1, 2024.

Born in Maryland in 1932, Bob was the son of Willard and Martha. He is survived by his wife Lois, and his twin sister Betty, along with his children: Kevin (Chris), Stacey and Michael.  His grandchildren: Troy (Brittany), Amanda and Julia, in addition to 3 great-grandchildren along with 13 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his brothers and sister: John, Tom, Ooks and Mary Lou.

Robert grew up in Donora and Warren, PA, and went to college at the University of Cincinnati, where he obtained his Mechanical Engineering degree. He married his sweetheart Lois in San Francisco, CA, in 1959 while stationed there in the Navy.

They settled in Pittsburgh, where they raised their children.

Bob was good at baseball, football, basketball, tennis and bowling.  But his real love was for his God, Jehovah, and he devoted much of the past 48 years to helping others appreciate that God’s Kingdom is the only hope for Mankind and that by means of that Kingdom the wonderful promise found at Revelation 21:3-5, will come true: “3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them.  4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away. ” 5 And the One seated on the throne said: “Look!  I am making all things new.”

This hope sustained Bob until his very last day.  We look forward to seeing Bob again in the resurrection just as Bob entertained that same hope for his siblings and parents and many others.

A Memorial Talk will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 325 Lowenhill Ave. Pittsburgh, PA 15216.

Dear Family It has been a privilege to have a small part in watching your family mature into a family who loves and puts Jehovah first. So sorry for your loss, but Bob is not lost to Jehovah. He is in the safest place he can be, Jehovah's memory. Surely, after decades of time, I have not forgotten, certainly Jehovah who knows all the stars by name, knows Bob's name. What a joy the resurrection will be!
