Sallie Jean Lockwood Nelson

Sallie Jean Lockwood was born 2/8/33, one of four daughters, Goldie, Sallie, Ruth and Donna to the Rev and Mrs Fred Lockwood of Highland Park Michigan. She grew up in Royal Oak, Mi, graduating from Dondero HS in 1951. Employed in a variety of secretarial positions until her marriage to William E Nelson, 5/30/1952. To that marriage was born three children, Barry Duane and William Joseph, both of whom preceded her in death and Sara Lynn. She was a faithful Pastor’s wife, being involved in the music and Christian Education programs of the churches served by her husband, to whom she was married for 71 years. She leaves a daughter-in-law, Dawn Johnson (Robert Mayne), a daughter, Sara Lynn Courson, four grandchildren, Marley Nelson, Jane Engel (Clifford), Beth Tanner (Stetson) and Barry Courson (Josie); and 6 great grand children, Theo, Cecily, Jacob, Adeline, Evelyn and Penelope, all of whom will miss her terribly..
