Stella “Debby” Rosko of Cecil, PA originally of Avella, passed away with her family by her side on March 9, 2024.
She was born to the late Sophia & Frank Malinosky on May 3, 1937, in Oakdale, PA.
Beloved Mother of Christine Restaneo (Raymond) Schwager, Christopher (Debbie) Rosko, and exchange student Bernardo Ibañez. Loving grandmother to Sophia Jewel Restaneo (June) Alvarizares, Adelia Blaire Restaneo (Johnny Rodriguez), Alexandra Nicole Rosko, and Christian Xavier Rosko and step grandmother to John Schwager. Dear sister to Catherine Jean (Peter) Pleska. Cherished Aunt to Peter (Jacqueline) Pleska and Robin Pleska and great aunt to Kira Pleska, Catie Pleska, and Michael Pleska.
She was preceded in death by her companion Charles “Dick” Messerly.
Stella was active in the family businesses for many years as a bookkeeper for State Line Coal Co. and Office Manager for Palmer J. Restaneo Dental Practice. Many knew her as their second mother, and her door was always open to anyone who needed her. In her free time, Stella had a true passion for theater. She was a talented actor, director, and producer with Old School House Players in Hickory, PA, for many years. She also devoted her time by volunteering for the Washington County Literacy Program. Stella dedicated her life to her family; her grandchildren were her pride and joy. Whether caring for or supporting them on Broadway, she was a cherished Nana. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
A gathering of family and friends will be on Thursday, March 14, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317. A Mass will be held on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at St Mary’s, 10 St Mary’s Lane, Cecil, PA 15321. Everyone please meet at the church. Burial will follow at Mt. Prospect Cemetery, 199 Main Street, Hickory, PA 15340.
