Martha Elizabeth Franklin

Martha Elizabeth Franklin, born Martha Elizabeth Matern in December 1933, she was the daughter of the late William and Pearl Matern of Schenectady, NY. She passed away 12/23/22 just past her 89th birthday at Bridgeville Rehabilitation and Care Center in Bridgeville, PA after an extended battle with Alzheimer’

She was the loving wife of Allan L. Franklin. She is survived by her two daughters, Elizabeth Mayfield (James L. Mayfield) and Nancy Bourke (Daniel P. Bourke), and son William B. Franklin. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. A graduate of Mont Pleasant High School, Martha was always an active volunteer at the churches she attended: Trinity Lutheran Church (Schenectady, NY), Church of the Covenant (Washington, PA), St. Paul’s Lutheran Church (Sarver, PA). She also loved knitting, crocheting, doing puzzles, playing games, traveling, and had an insatiable passion for collecting pigs.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Private arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, McMurray, PA.
