Darrell L. McLaughlin

Darrell L. McLaughlin, age 77 of Pittsburgh, formerly of Byron, Illinois, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 28, 2020. He was born in McKeesport, Pennsylvania on October 12, 1942 and is the son of the late Darrell and Genevieve McLaughlin. 

Darrell worked as a metallurgical engineer and project manager. He contributed to the Saturn V rocket and the first liquefied natural gas ships before joining the nuclear power industry. He was a proud member of the International Society for Philosophical Enquiry, Intertel, and Mensa. He earned degrees from Carnegie Mellon and University of Pennsylvania. He enjoyed classical music, gardening, and range shooting. 

Darrell is survived by his children David L. McLaughlin and Amanda J. Law; brother Larry McLaughlin; grandchildren Victoria and Marcus McLaughlin and Henry and Ethan Law.
