Phillip “PJ” Joseph Collins

Phillip “PJ” Joseph Collins, age 76 of Bethel Park, PA formerly of Blainsburg, PA passed away surrounded by family on April 29, 2021. Born on August 7, 1944, he was the son of the late Helen and Phillip Collins. Beloved husband to the late Judith Belle Collins. Loving father to Jennifer (Albert Caminero) Collins, Kevin (Michelle) Collins, and Sarah (Damien) Episcopo. Cherished grandfather to Zachary and Tyler Collins and Damien and Mason Episcopo. He was preceded in death by James Collins.

Phil was an educator for 42 years in Upper St Clair, and spent the later portion of his career working for ASSET Inc. where he trained teachers how to teach science. He was also an adjunct professor at Duquesne University. Phil was a foodie and loved traveling to the beach and gardening. Phil enjoyed going out to eat and spending time with his grandchildren.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be planned for a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260-5546.

Phil was a great teacher and an even better man. I had the pleasure of working with Phil as a fellow educator, and he was always a pleasant and positive role model. Phil made the world a much better place, and I know that countless folks will carry him in their hearts and minds.
