Ronald F. Kunert

Ronald F. Kunert, Sr., 92 of McCandless Township, PA and Naples, FL, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 10, 2021 at St. Barnabas Nursing Home. He was born September 11, 1929 to the late William and Leona Kunert and was the beloved husband of Margery for 70 years; loving father of Ronald Kunert, Jr., Frank (Michele) Kunert, Colleen Gonzales and the late Jan (Michael) Kimmel; brother of the late William Kunert and Lois Hepp; Poppop to 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He spent over 30 years as a sales executive in the freight traffic industry after an honorable discharge in 1948 from the United States Army in which he served during World War II. He owned and operated Oak Valley Kennels in the Fox Chapel area from 1970 to 1991. He loved gardening, playing poker with buddies, horseshoes, fishing, the Steelers, the Pirates, watching the stock market, making friends wherever he went and most of all, he loved his family. Private arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, Robinson Township, PA. The family plans to celebrate his life privately in May 2022. Memorials suggested to The Michael J. Fox Foundation, for Parkinson’s and Lewy Body research.
