James “Jimmy” V. Mete

James “Jimmy” V. Mete, age 74 of Pittsburgh, PA passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 27, 2022. Born on October 26, 1947, he was the son of the late Joseph and Theresa Mete. Beloved husband to Carol Grosso Mete. Loving father to Joseph Samuel Mete. Cherished grandfather to Mallory Nicole Mete. He was preceded in death by his sister, Lori Mete. In addition to his parents and sister, he is also preceded in death by his beloved companion, his dog Sal.

Jimmy was an avid Pittsburgh Sports team fan. He enjoyed coaching Youth Baseball and was extremely proud of the 3 World Series that he took his teams to. He was a bartender at the Hyatt Hotel and Armstrong’s Restaurant where he met many people throughout his years working and he was known for always being able to make people laugh. Jimmy loved all music and will be dearly missed by many, especially his dog, Fredo.

A Celebration of Jimmy’s life will be held a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260-5546.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family in the honor of Jimmy’s beloved granddaughter, Mallory.

My friend George Kubiak and myself meet Jimmy in the 70`s,as he was bartending at the Monroeville Pub,in the Monroeville Mall,We became fast friends,and I was also in his wedding then.The last time I saw him he was working at the Royal II in Castle Shannon.WE are both sad for Jimmy and his family.John (Stoney)Stonebraker
