Loving mother of Cheryl DeChicchis, Rick (Ricki) DeChicchis, Brian (Aurora) DeChicchis, Paul (Debbie) DeChicchis, Rebecca (James) Lyda. Cherished grandmother of Melissa (Yoshi) Henderson, Tom Verscharen, Rick (Anderson) DeChicchis, Sarah Hanzel, Matt DeChicchis, Zachary DeChicchis, Nick DeChicchis. Barb was preceded in death by her daughter Cynthia DeChicchis and sister Betty Laughlin.

Barb worked very hard through many obstacles in her early life and career and was blessed to be able to retire early with the love her life, Ken. Barbie and Ken enjoyed building their little piece of heaven at Big Bear Lake which became home. They traveled all over the United States and found a winter getaway in Arizona. Many friends and memories were made! She loved being active. She loved dancing, swimming, hiking and bike riding. In her later years, she and Ken found their way back to Pittsburgh and embraced their family. She is the foundation of our family and will be forever missed and forever loved.

Sadly, due to COVID-19 restrictions, we ask that only her family and close friends come to pay their respects on Sunday, May 17, 2020 from 12 PM – 3 PM at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260-5546.

I worked with Barbara at Mellon Bank for many years. Her name just came up in conversation and I found this notice. Barbara was the consummate professional in the office but then I spent a weekend at Big Bear Lake and saw the real Barb. She loved her children with all of her heart and worked so hard for them. I'm glad that she had many grandchildren and great grandchildren - they surely bought her great joy.
