Barb worked very hard through many obstacles in her early life and career and was blessed to be able to retire early with the love her life, Ken. Barbie and Ken enjoyed building their little piece of heaven at Big Bear Lake which became home. They traveled all over the United States and found a winter getaway in Arizona. Many friends and memories were made! She loved being active. She loved dancing, swimming, hiking and bike riding. In her later years, she and Ken found their way back to Pittsburgh and embraced their family. She is the foundation of our family and will be forever missed and forever loved.

Sadly, due to COVID-19 restrictions, we ask that only her family and close friends come to pay their respects on Sunday, May 17, 2020 from 12 PM – 3 PM at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260-5546.

My mother in law was an amazing woman. She was strong and so full of life. She saw things for what they were and dealt with them head on. She loved the simple pleasures in life.....a good dance, a drink and laughs with her family and friends. She had a lot of family...children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren...and she never left anyone out....ever. She shared her heart with each one, always making you feel special. She was a special lady who lived life with humility and integrity. She brought many great memories into our lives....and we will hold those dearly in our thoughts and we will hold her love in our hearts forever. Love, Debbie, Paul, Jake ans Jonathan DeChicchis
