Bernie V. Filosi

Bernard “Bernie” Filosi, age 79, of Meadowlands, PA, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on November 17th, 2023. Born on June 8th, 1944, he was the son of the late Virgil and Sophie Filosi. Loving father of Greg Filosi, Mike (Amy) Filosi, and Lisa (Jason) Lombardi. Cherished pap to Jaylese, Roman, and Malina Lombardi, and Gianna and Nico Filosi.

Bernie was preceded in death by his former wife of 31 years, Louise Ann Filosi, and sister, Veronica Filosi.

Bernie graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in Washington, PA, in 1962. Afterwards, he joined the Marine Corps, was actively enlisted from 1962 until 1966, being discharged at the rank of Corporal. He was awarded the Navy Unite Commendation, Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Expiditionary Medal, and the National Defense Medal. He was known as the former owner of Bernie’s Beer Distributor on Pike Street in Houston, PA. Bernie was passionate about hunting, fishing, and coaching baseball, whether that be in the dugout or on the sidelines. He was also a life long member of the Bears Club in Meadowlands, the VFW #191 in Canonsburg, PA, and social member at the Houston Independent Club. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

At Bernie’s request, all services will be private. Final arrangements are entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, McMurray.
