Beth Chismar

Elizabeth “Beth” Chismar, age 71, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2023, surrounded by her family. Born on July 27, 1952, she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Cornwall. Beloved wife of Edward Chismar. Loving mother of Derrick Ballas, Ryan (Bonnie) Ballas, Alisa (Corey) Robinson, Christine (Nick) Martin, and Justin (Kelsie) Chismar. Dear sister of Jayne (Frank) Lachendro, James (Kathie) Cornwall, Timothy (Judy) Cornwall, Mark Cornwall, Amy (James) Sadowski, and Brian Cornwall. Grandmummy to Ryder, Avery, Roxy, Bradlyn, Cora, Crew, Camden, and Maverick. She is also survived by her first husband, DeWayne Ballas, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her brother, Jack Cornwall, and nephew, Nathan Lachendro.

Beth was known for her love of crafting, shopping, and her puppies. She enjoyed traveling to her camp in the mountains or vacationing at any beach that she could. Most of all, Bethie prioritized her family, always making sure that she could enjoy a good laugh with the people she loved most. She will be dearly missed by many.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on November 30th, 2023, from 1PM – 3PM at Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA, 15317. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Beth’s honor to the ALS Association, https://www.als.org (https://www.als.org/).
