Catherine (Schake) Flannery

Catherine (Schake) Flannery, age 94, passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Lawrence, Pennsylvania. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Flannery.

Kay will be dearly missed by her son, James (Betty) Flannery, and her loving daughter, Colleen (the late Robert) Roell.

Kay’s grandchildren, Cathy (Jeff) Lynn; Robert (Wendy) Roell;  Wendy (Chris) Holmes; Jim (Jill) Flannery; Michael Flannery and Amy (Lionel) Hochbaum will cherish countless wonderful memories of their beloved Nana Kay.
Her 17 great-grandchildren blessed her days with pride and love: Trevor, Connor, Cathryn Colleen, Tommy, Savannah, Mitchell, Jace, Taylor, Evan, Nick, Sarah, Julia, Michael, Grace, Emily, Elise and Evelyn.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Willa Connolly and Mary Erfort.
Formerly of Pittsburgh’s South Side, Kay was a devout Catholic and life-long member of the Christian Mothers at Prince of Peace Church.
Her entire family, including many nieces, nephews and friends, will always remember her singing an Irish tune, sharing a story from her childhood, and making us smile.   
Friends will be received Thursday, April 19, 2018 from 2-8 pm at Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317, 724-260-5546.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, April 20, 2018 at 10 am at St. Benedict The Abbot Church, 120 Abington Dr., McMurray, PA 15317, 724-260-5546.
