Doris Jean Kantz

Doris Jean Kantz, 91 of McCandless Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Valentine Kantz, Jr. She was born March 14, 1930 in Pittsburgh and is the daughter of the late Russel and Mae Rask and sister of the late Emily Miller.

Doris loved the mountains and the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with her family at their second home on the Allegheny River in Tidioute, PA. She was thoughtful, caring, selfless and fiercely independent. Doris was an amazing mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend who will be missed tremendously by all who knew and loved her.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Richard (Susan) Kantz, David (Terry) Kantz, Debbie (the late Jeff) Nolan, Jeff (Faye) Kantz and Steven Kantz; grandchildren, Jason Kantz, Katie (Collin) Flanagan, Jesse Nolan, Deric Kantz and Tanner Kantz; great-grandchildren, Hanna and Bryan Kantz; nephew Frank (Wendy) Fork and niece Susan (Dennis) Taber.

A memorial will be held privately for the immediate family. Donations in her memory can be made to: Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard Inc., 945 Washington Boulevard, Pittsburgh PA 15206-4143. Arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, Robinson Township, PA.
