Ernest H. McCormick

Ernest H. McCormick, 81, of Weirton, WV passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 8, 2023.

Born on July 20, 1941, in Weirton, WV, he was the son of the late Ernest and Rotha McCormick.

He was also preceded in death by his first wife Lorraine Cappelli McCormick and sisters Betty Lou Amweller, Darlene Sutton, Mary Alice George, brother-in-laws Tom Sutton and Ben George, and sister-in-law Doris McCormick.

He was a graduate of Weir High School and attended technical training in machine repair.  He was retired from Weirton Steel.  He worked in several foreman positions, concluding as a foreman in the Strip Steel.  He was member of the Weirton Masonic Lodge.

Ernie had a kind heart and always put his family first.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.  He loved working outside, in the yard and nurturing his fig trees.

Ernie will be deeply missed by his wife, Frances McCormick, and step-children, Francie (Mike) Reppy, Linda Spanovich, and Luci (Steve) Nichols.  He will also be missed by his brother Darell McCormick, as well as several loving nieces and nephews.

Arrangements have been made with Pittsburgh Crematory with private services being held at the convenience of the family.
