Ernest Paul Renaud, age 100 of Pittsburgh, PA, formerly of North East, PA passed away on Thursday, September 20, 2018. Beloved husband of the late Eleanor Herrick Renaud. Born on January 7, 1918 in Pittsfield, MA, he is the son of the late Arthur Renaud and Laura Cote Renaud. Loving father of Susan (Steve) Schantz, Ann (Gene) Renaud, and Judy (Tim) Schroedl. Cherished brother of Charles Renaud. Adored grandfather of Megan Hill, David Schantz, Andrew Cross, Meredith Cross, John Raymond Bial, Nick Bial, and Greg Bial. Great Grandfather of Jacob Hill, Clara Schantz, Katie Schantz, and Jackson Bial.

Ernie enjoyed outdoor activities such as golf and skiing. He had an interest in trains, as he worked on locomotive engineering. His other hobbies included reading, photography, and travel. Most of all, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He worked his entire career at General Electric in Erie as an industrial designer. Ernie lived the last 3 years of his life at Sunrise Senior Living of Upper St. Clair. The family deeply appreciates the loving care provided by Sunrise and Three Rivers Hospice.

A small celebration of Ernie’s life will be held in October for family and close friends. Burial will occur at North East Cemetery at a later date.
