Ethel Mae Diffendal

Ethel Mae Diffendal, age 73, of Bethel Park, gained her angel wings on December 11, 2023.

Born on March 11, 1950, she was the daughter of Frances and the late Albert Smith.

She was the beloved wife of James Diffendal for 19 years; loving mother of Curtis (Nicole) Taylor, Jennifer Taylor, and Leigh Ann (John) Oravecz; cherished Grammy of 8 grandkids, Daniel, Robert, Samara, Lilly, John, Kaleb, Madison and Michael; dear sister of Alfred Smith, Ruth Cheatham, Maria (Mack) Braswell, Iris Madison, Dyra Smith, Peck Smith, and the late Robert Smith, Lawrence Smith, Al Smith, Kim Smith, and Tina Bleich; also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Ethel loved to crochet. She was a teacher at West Mifflin High School for over 30 years, and after retirement, she drove a bus for First Student for children with disabilities. She was an active member of South Hills Assembly of God, the ladies prayer group, and drove the church bus transporting other members to church. Ethel was often found cleaning her home and loved traveling. Always a woman of service, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A gathering of family and friends are welcome on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 10 am until the time of service at 1 pmat Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317724-260-5546.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to South Hills Assembly of God, 2725 Bethel Church Rd., Bethel Park, PA 15102.
