Our dear, sweet son Evan Sapienza passed away unexpectedly on March 1, 2021. Evan was kind-hearted, loving, funny and adventurous.  He was compassionate, well-read and super intelligent.  He enjoyed playing guitar and was learning to speak French. Evan was a voracious reader and even as a small boy he loved to go to the “downtown library “. He loved to write and kept a journal.  He was a diehard sports fan and loved his Buckeyes and Cleveland Indians.  They will forever be the Cleveland Indians.  He was an amazing cook and shared pictures of his fabulous dinners nightly. He fell in love with the Pacific Northwest and was looking forward to moving back to Washington.

Evan leaves behind his father, Tom (Kristy) Sapienza; mother, Lisa (Dan) Smith; sister, Arly (Bill) Drake; brother, Ryan Sapienza; grandparents, Kathy Hill and Thomas Anthony (Carol) Sapienza; uncle, David (Julie) Anderson and cousin, Kyle Anderson; aunt, Vanessa Riser; uncle, Ross Sapienza; stepbrothers, Michael and Thomas Fry. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Larry and Andrea Anderson. Evan also leaves behind his beloved emotional support cat Smokey and his kindred spirit and best friend Megan Kelly.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions in Evan’s name to teenchallengeusa.org or notonemore.net. Arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, Robinson Township, PA.
