Frank A. Wargo, age 88, of Strabane, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 6, 2024. Born on October 5, 1935, he is the son of the late Frank T. and Honora Wargo.
Devoted husband of 63 years to Joan Wargo. Beloved brother to Carleen Stiles and Charmaine Berola. Loving father in law to Mike George and Holly Wargo. Cherished pap to Michael “Mikey”(Crystle) Munch, Callie “Sweetie Pie” Munch, Audriana “Baby Cakes” Michrina. Adoring great-grandfather to Tyler and Evelyn Munch. He is also blessed with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and neighbors that were considered family.
He is preceded in death by his children, Suzanne George and Frank T. Wargo; Siblings, Theodore Wargo, Allan Wargo, and Becky Perry.
Frank proudly served in the Army National Guard and went on to work at Washington Steel for 32 years as a heavy equipment operator. While still working at Washington Steel, Frank and Joan enjoyed operating their topsoil business where they served the local Washington County community. In 2007, Frank and his son founded Canon Auto, a family owned/operated auto repair shop. While his son was the sole proprietor, Frank assumed multiple roles to assist in the success of the business and enjoy time working alongside his son. Frank enjoyed classic cars and was especially fond of his Ford Shay Model A. He loved the outdoors, whether it was swinging on the porch, gardening, tending to his lawn, or walks in the park, Frank was always keeping himself occupied. The most important thing to Frank was his family — He cherished the times spent together: Sitting next to the fireplace, watching football, Trick or Treating on Halloween, and the Canonsburg Fourth of July Parade. For Frank, even a simple cup of tea enjoyed with his family was something that made him smile. Frank will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
At the request of Frank and his family, there will be no services. Memorial contributions can be made to Concordia Hospice of Washington – Donnell House who provided compassionate care. Arrangements are entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care.
