Genevieve A. Greenwood

Genevieve A. Greenwood, 103, of Houston, PA, formerly of Peters Township, PA, passed away on December 9, 2023.

Born on October 16, 1920, she is daughter of the late Stanley and Laura Podgorski. Loving mother of Beverly (Michael) Jackson, Bruce Greenwood, Kymberly (Leonard) Cancilla, and daughter-in-law Gerri Greenwood. Genevieve was the loving grandmother of Shane Greenwood, Jamie Gallagher, Leonard Cancilla III, and Anthony Cancilla. She was the great-grandmother of Abigail, Isabelle, William, Grace, Lexi, and Lilly Gallagher, and Kamryn, Anthony (Tony), Isabella, and Santino Cancilla. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 16 years, Hardie D. Greenwood, son, David H. Greenwood, and siblings, Pearl Dzubek, Edward Underhill, and Chester Underhill.

Genevieve lived a very active and full lifestyle, blessing her with 103 years. She was both a competitive ice skater and golfer. She also spent much of her time outside gardening, and exploring different festivals and art shows that came about. She was a great cook, specializing in her shrimp and rice dish, but overall, a great mother, grandmother, and friend. Her outgoing nature is going to be missed by all those who knew & loved her.
