Joan B. Carey

Joan B. Carey, 66 of Rochester, PA, passed away after a long battle with illness on Sunday, January 7, 2024. She was born in Beaver, PA on September 1, 1957 to Edward and Nora Geffert and is the beloved wife of the late Joseph Carey.

She worked for many years taking care of people with disabilities in her own home. She was a selfless woman who received joy and fulfillment from making others happy. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved capturing special moments with photos. She never attended a special occasion without bringing a tray of cookies or some kind of sweet treat.

Joan is survived by her loving children Josh (Mackenzie) Carey and Jenna (Michael Brown) Carey; her beloved grandchildren, Brooks and Bennet; her siblings, Noreen (Mike) Muha, Catherine (Mike) Helm, Patricia (Clifford) Luft, John Geffert; also, many nieces and nephews and their children.

Friends will be received on Friday, January 12, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, 5405 Steubenville Pike, Robinson Township, PA 15136. A memorial service will be held on Saturday the 13th at 11 am at St. Philips Church, 1629 Beaver Grade Road, Coraopolis, PA 15108. Everyone please meet at church.
