Joan L. Petro

Joan L. Petro, 79 of Washington, PA formerly of Houston, PA passed away in her home, surrounded by her loving family on August 23, 2023, one day shy of her 60th wedding anniversary.

She was born on June 24, 1944 in Canonsburg, PA to the late Edward Whitfield and Alice Huffman Whitfield.

Joan was raised by her eldest sister Hazel, after  her mother passed away when Joan was three days old.

Joan graduated From Charters- Houston High School.

On August 24, 1943 she married her loving husband Charles S. Petro, Who took wonderful care of her until the very end.

She was the beloved mother of her only child, Kevin Petro, whom she loved with all of her heart and his loving wife, Marisa Petro, who adored her. She was the grandmother to Shayne, Aaryn, Camden and Jason, the apple’s of her eye. She was preceded in death by sisters, Hazel, Betty, Molly, Lil, Joyce, Marie and two sisters who died in infancy, Three brothers, Amos, James and Charles, and many Nieces and Nephews. She is survived by sister Lorrie Dellovade, nieces, Paula Witkowsky and Adrianne Dellovade whom the family would like to thank for aiding in her care and always being there for Joan.  She is also survived by many Nieces and Nephews.

A special thank you to all of her wonderful Hospice team as well.
