Lance L. Short, 75, of Economy Borough passed away Saturday September 9th, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford surrounded by his family. He was born on February 23, 1948, in New Brighton to the late Charles R. and Virginia (Logan) Short. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Cindy, Sister – Charlene Briceland, Brother – Brad Short, Children – Lance Short and Partner Michelle Gurniak, Gretchen (George) Hallaman, Lindsey (Craig) Barthold, and Logan Short. He is also survived by Brother-in-law Gary (Debbie) Kmit, Sister-in-law Leslie Kmit, Grandchildren Carl Short, Lance Short, Maggie Cooper, Alison Hallaman, George Hallaman, Ryan and Barrett Barthold, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Lance was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Vietnam era in Bad Kissingen, Germany. He proudly retired from the Norfolk Southern Railroad company after 44 years of service on March 1, 2011, and was able to enjoy his family full time. Lance enjoyed playing his guitar, having a beer with friends and family, and taking care of his yard. A special thank you to our family and neighbors who have been a blessing at this difficult time. There will be no visitation. Private arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation and Funeral Care, Robinson Township, PA.
