Joann Beverly Sweitzer, age 60, of Pittsburgh passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 10, 2020.
Born on January 10, 1960, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Norma Frey.
She was the beloved wife of Mark Sweitzer, they would have celebrated their 40th anniversary on February 29 of this year; loving mother of Craig (Ann Laux) Sweitzer; Christin (Gregory) Uhl, Lauren (Phil Loebig) Sweitzer; cherished grandmother of Brady, Ava, Addison, Liliana, and Callee; dear sister of Carol (Phil) Gallagher and Diane (Emin) Erman; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Joann was a true artist. She had a passion for horticulture and if you ever needed to find her she was always in her garden. One of her favorite sayings was “ I love to watch the miracle when blossoms bud and grow, I am near to God in my garden, then anywhere else I know.” Most of all she loved spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on February 22, 2020 from 11 am until the time of service at 1 pm at South Hills Assembly, 2725 Bethel Church Rd., Bethel Park, PA 15102.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joann’s name to the charity of your choice.
