John F. Fadgen

John F. Fadgen, age 76, of Peters Township, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, May 28, 2017. Born on September 29, 1940, he was the son of the late Louise Elizabeth and John F. Fadgen. He was the loving husband of Hilkka of 46 years. He was oldest brother of six, Sister Jane RSM, Jim (Liz), Jay (Sharon), Jerry (Kathy) and deceased Kevin (Nancy). John is also survived by many nieces and nephews in Pittsburgh, Virginia, Florida, Massachusetts and Arizona.

John served in the U.S. Army from 1964 – 1966. He joined the American Red Cross serving in Viet Nam until 1970. Interests included reading, vegetable gardening and financial endeavors. He worked as a waiter, bartender and a self- employed entrepreneur. He was a member of AE/ATO since Duquesne University days and supported the Father Duschene Scholarship Fund.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers you support the American Cancer Society or the Father Duschene Scholarship Fund at Duquesne University.

Family and friends are welcome from 12 – 2 pm and 5- 7 pm on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Rd., McMurray, PA 15317. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Monday, June 5, 2017 at St. Benedict the Abbot Church, 120 Abington Dr., McMurray, PA 1317. Burial will be held at 10:30am on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. PLEASE MEET AT THE CEMETERY.
