I too considered Joe to be a friend and a great person. I was always glad to talk with him about our mutual interests - (1) the military life, (2) anything to do with the local sports teams, and (3) the occasional Friday night card game. He loved the Navy and his family more than anything.

Hi Joyce. Pat and I were so very sorry to hear about Joe's passing. We were very lucky to have known him for the short time that we did. We loved his dry sense of humor and I know that Pat liked to talk to him about his military service. Parkinson's is such a terrible disease ----it creeps up slowly at first and then all too quickly takes away those that we love--- much too soon. Please let us know if there's anything at all that Pat and I can do for you. And we hope to be able to attend the Memorial Service and Interment. Our prayers are with you and your family. My deepest condolences to Joyce & family. I knew Joe from the Naval Reserve and the Naval Enlisted Reserve Association. He was a dedicated sailor. God had called him home and ended his suffering. Fair winds & following seas Joe.
