Mary Lois Pattison

Mary Lois Pattison, age 90, of Coraopolis, PA, formerly of Mt. Pleasant Michigan passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023. Mary was born in August 1932 in Ashland Ohio to Charles and Lois Dakin.  Mary’s family eventually settled in central Michigan where she met and married John Pattison, Sr.  After having three boys, they put down roots in Pittsburgh, PA, where Mary lost John Sr. to cancer in 1973.  She bravely carried on and raised her family while working as a nurse’s aide for the state of Pennsylvania.  Mary enjoyed family camping trips, a lively game of cards with family and friends, and acting with the West Hills Community Theatre.  In the latter, she was especially renown for her breakout role as a Brewster sister in Arsenic and Old Lace.  As time passed, she enjoyed being grandmother to a growing family of grandchildren and great grandchildren.  In the early 2000s she moved back to Michigan, where she lived for 10 years as the loving second wife of Dick Pattison.  In 2013 Mary moved back to Pittsburgh to live out her final years under the doting care of her children as she slipped peacefully into Alzheimer’s.  Mary eldest son John Jr. preceded her in death in 2009.  She is survived by her sons Fred and Steve; daughters-in-law Amsale and Mae; grandchildren Mike, Paul, Philip, Melanie, Maria, and Maya; great grandchildren Maris and Jace; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Mary will be laid to rest with her beloved husband John Sr. in Whitneyville, MI. Arrangements were entrusted to Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care, Robinson Township, PA.
