Rick was a wonderful friend to so many of us in Martinsburg. We grew up together on Illinois Ave; we shared many New Year’s Eve celebrations in his basement; and we enjoyed a lifetime of friendship, joy, laughter, and love. He ministered to all of us. My friend is quietly waiting to greet each of us with his deep voice and a loving “Welcome Brother/Sister, my friend.” We will miss you dearly.

My condolences to the Futrell family.

Grateful I was able to know him through work with the Supreme Court. He always had a smile on his face and a whistle in his step. He genuinely cared about the kids he worked with. He was missed when he left here and I am sorry for your loss.

Hi Mike, Sorry for your loss. Glad your dad lived a full life. I hope he's with Jesus now. Over the next few months you will be flooded with memories. Some joyful, some painful. Don't hesitate to stop and take time to rest in those moments. Be blessed, Mark

I am very sorry for your loss. He filled in as a pastor when our church was without one. I've always remembered something he said, "The greatest poverty is the lack of hope."
