Paul John LaRosa, age 79 of Upper St. Clair, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017. Born on March 14, 1938 in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Alexandria and Paul LaRosa. He was the loving husband of Patricia LaRosa of Springdale, PA who he married on 2/02/1963, Ground Hod Day; cherished father of Jason LaRosa of Houston, TX and Nathan LaRosa of Upper St. Clair.

Paul received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering in 1961 at the City College of New York. He was first in his engineering class, an AIC Medal winner and  a Winner of Metropolitan NY Student Paper Contest. Paul worked his way through college at C. Pfizer starting at age 17 and thereafter won fellowship to Carnegie Mellon University where he earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering in 1967. He worked for U.S. Steel, TRW and Burns and Roe, as a manager, in Energy Process Development and Environmental Remediation processes and techniques.

Paul enjoyed all forms of music, particularly Jazz, old movies because they were kinder and gentler, and the theatre, particularly musical comedies.

After living in several places in the U.S., Paul came back to Pittsburgh in 1985 and considered it to be the absolute best place to live and raise a family.

So sorry for the loss of your husband and father. He had to be a really good guy since he had a really cool wife. Hold onto the memories.
