Robert Appel, age 93 of Bethel Park passed away at home of congestive heart failure on January 25, 2018.

Loving husband of the late Eileen. Dear father of Kathy Allison, Roberta Boyd (James), Jeanne Appel, and James Appel. Beloved grandfather of Megan, Emily, and Brian Boyd. Brother of Patricia Sewalk (John) of Surprise, Arizona and the late Gloria Evans and Claire Kolling. Bob was a World War II Navy veteran who served in the Pacific Theatre. A 1949 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he was employed by West Penn Power for 43 years. Bob was a member of St. Thomas More parish since 1966. He will be remembered as a man of great faith, integrity, and quiet strength.

Arrangements handled by Cremation & Funeral Care by Danielle Andy Belusko. A memorial mass will be celebrated at St. Thomas More Church at a date to be announced. Please NO FLOWERS. If desired, contributions can be made in his name to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, 1 North Linden St, Duquesne, PA 15110. A special thanks to the Bethany Hospice staff for their kindness and compassion.
