Robert Hugh Hammel, 72, of Canonsburg died Monday January 1, 2018. He was born in Mt. Lebanon, PA on December 11, 1945. He was the son of the late Robert H. Hammel and Esther Hammel. He is survived by his wife Mary E. Hammel. Surviving in addition to his wife are his sister Barbara Fricke (Robert), his children Gregory Day Hammel and Marnie M. (Mari) Hammel and his grand-children Kiptyn Paul Hammel-Millard and Keatyn Hammel-Millard.

He was a graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School and Brown University. He was the owner of The House of Robert Hammel Furniture Store in McMurray, PA.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday January 4, 2017 from 2 PM – 8 PM at Cremation and Funeral Care, 3287 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317, (724) 260-5546. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pet Search.

I will fondly and lovingly remember Captain Bob and all the great times we shared on the Volatus. I’ll always remember Bob for his whit, fun-loving ways, his charm and the love he had for his friends and family. He will always be my Captain Bob????.
